Used tractor attachments for sale

An attachment is what turns a tractor from a single-purpose machine into a year-round tool. Whether you're outfitting a compact utility tractor for hobby acreage or expanding the capability of a row-crop unit pulling a planter, the right implement does more for your operation than another machine ever could. Our inventory covers the full working range — three-point hitch backhoes, front-end loader buckets, rotary cutters, box blades, post hole augers, pallet forks, snow blowers, bale spears, and more — listed daily from farms, dealers, and fleets across North America.

Categories of tractor attachments you'll find in our listings

Most used tractor implements at auction fall into a few working groups. Knowing the category helps you filter faster:

3-point hitch backhoes and loader attachments

One of the most searched items in this category is the 3-point backhoe attachment — and it's easy to see why. For a compact or utility tractor owner who already owns the prime mover, a used 3-point hitch backhoe lets you dig footings, trench water lines, and pull stumps without buying a dedicated backhoe loader. Look for brands like Woods BH80X, Bradco 511, and Befco when browsing our listings — these run PTO-driven hydraulics and bolt onto most Cat 1 and Cat 2 hitches.

Front-end loader attachments are the other workhorse group. Bucket capacities on used compact tractor loaders typically range from 0.25 to 0.5 cubic yards. Quick-attach plates — usually skid-steer style or the John Deere Global carrier — let you swap between a bucket, forks, and a bale spear in under a minute.

Will the attachment fit your tractor?

This is the single most common question we get from buyers browsing tractor implements, so it's worth addressing directly before you bid.

  • Three-point hitch category: Category 0 fits sub-compact tractors under ~20 hp, Category 1 covers most compact and utility tractors (20–45 hp), Category 2 is for 40–100 hp tractors, and Category 3 is for high-horsepower units. Some Cat 1 implements can be adapted to a Cat 0 tractor with a reducer bushing kit, but pin spacing and lift capacity have to match.
  • PTO speed and spline count: Most ag tractors run 540 rpm with a six-spline shaft; larger units use 1,000 rpm with 21 splines. The implement's gearbox must match.
  • Skid-steer attachments on a tractor: Yes — but only if your loader has a skid-steer style quick-attach plate (most modern compact tractor loaders from John Deere, Kubota, and Mahindra do). Hydraulically-driven attachments like augers also need your tractor's auxiliary hydraulic flow to meet the attachment's GPM requirement.
  • Hydraulic flow: Check the implement's required GPM and pressure against your tractor's remote outlets, especially for grapples, snow blowers with hydraulic chute control, and post hole augers.

What to look for when buying used agricultural attachments

  • Wear points and cutting edges: On buckets, check the cutting edge thickness and the wear plates on the bottom. On rotary cutters, inspect blade pin holes for elongation and the stump jumper for cracks.
  • Gearbox condition: For PTO-driven implements — rotary cutters, post hole diggers, tillers, snow blowers — pull the dipstick or fill plug. Milky oil means water intrusion, metal shavings mean internal damage. Listen for grinding under load if you can run it.
  • Hydraulic cylinders and hoses: On backhoes and loader attachments, look for cylinder rod pitting, weeping seals, and chafed hoses. A rebuild kit is cheap; a scored cylinder rod isn't.
  • Frame and weld integrity: Walk around tillage tools and check welds at stress points — the toolbar where shanks mount, the headstock of a 3-point backhoe, the loader bucket back. Cracks that have been re-welded multiple times are a red flag.
  • PTO shaft and shielding: Shielding is a safety item that's frequently missing or damaged. Replacement shafts are available, but factor the cost into your bid.
  • Mounting hardware: Confirm pins, bushings, and quick-attach hooks are present and not worn oversize. Missing top links and stabilizer chains add up.
